ORTOVOX as a comprehensive mountain sports brand offers sustainable products for winter and summer. Besides the quality of the products and shared experiences, alpine safety is of primary importance. Apart from strengthening the brand awareness, the main objective was to develop tools making these brand values tangible and providing the community with genuine added value.

Our solution

As outdooractive focuses on integrated solutions, the ORTOVOX outdoor portal forms the basis. Outdooractive Regio is a portal bundling everything ambitious alpinists need to know about ski tours, freeriding, alpine climbing, mountaineering and high-altitude tours. With the help of the corresponding Business, ORTOVOX can create their own content and distribute it across the portal. Moreover, it is possible to import other relevant content, such as tours of the Alpenverein, for the ORTOVOX target group. Using the portal, ORTOVOX plans to establish their own community which is provided with an attractive information channel and tour planning tool. Registered members can also use the portal to plan their own adventures and share them with the community. The distribution of ORTOVOX contents across the Outdooractive platform generates additional reach among an interested target group and potential new customers.

The logical addition to the portal is the ORTOVOX App. Since all contents are managed in the Business once-only, the users have access to the comprehensive tour data base via the app as well. In addition to that, the app offers practical tools to increase safety in the mountains. An avalanche layer, for example, was integrated in the topographically exact Outdooractive map. By means of avalanche warning levels, inclinometer and compass, the app supports in the risk assessment and enables the user to directly contact the emergency call center.

The portal and the app are effective instruments for a sustainable customer retention, since they offer ORTOVOX customers genuine added value. As all contents are gathered in the Business and thus become part of the Outdooractive data base, they can be used for a number of online and content marketing measures. Accompanying marketing measures are taken to improve the visibility and the reach among an outdoor enthusiast community as well as to increase the brand awareness.
