Outdooractive officially begins collaboration with the Union of International Mountain Leader Association (UIMLA)
Outdooractive, the leading digital platform in outdoor tourism, is proud to announce the new collaboration with the Union of International Mountain Leader Associations (UIMLA), one of the largest international umbrella organizations for professional Mountain Leaders based in Switzerland. The overarching goal of the partnership is to jointly promote sustainable and ecological behavior outdoors, as well as to make professional guiding and group management more effective, easier, and safer.
UIMLA is dedicated to representing the profession of mountain leaders worldwide. The umbrella organization currently includes over 25 national associations and around 5,000 professionals. “UIMLA tirelessly works to ensure uniform qualification standards for all International Mountain Leaders and to foster collaboration between mountain leaders from different countries,” explains Ian Spare, Mountain Leader, first aid instructor, and current president of UIMLA. He himself has long been using Outdooractive: “The platform and app are essential parts of my tour planning process and indispensable for navigation in the mountains,” says Ian. “Before I set off, I compare the various maps to get a comprehensive impression of the terrain and the paths along my route. As part of the cooperation, certified UIMLA Mountain Leaders receive a free Pro membership for the community platform and access to the business area, provided by the participating national associations. The professional development of certified mountain leaders is supported by providing them with innovative digital tools to improve their services at no additional cost.
