Influencing sustainable tourism with the new social sharing function

Social Media has forever changed the way we consume, think about, and interact with the tourism industry. About the Social Sharing Function

The new sharing function allows destinations, business partners, and users to share routes and tracks directly to their Instagram and Facebook stories. Within a couple of taps, destinations can easily create their own inspiring content, guiding visitors from already top-ranking routes towards lesser-known areas that may be just as beautiful, but do not receive the same level of attention from travelers.

Available now on mobile iOS and Android, the feature can be accessed on the Outdooractive app, Pro-Alliance, and business apps as they are updated. For Pro-Alliance and business apps, brand-specific logos and color schemes are automatically integrated.

The sharing function combines content information with route imagery or a generated map view if no images are available. The add-on encourages both destinations and community members to share their own adventures and become social media influencers for sustainable tourism.
