Management of Premium-Routes
Bad Peterstal-Griesbach has established itself as a premium hiking destination and set the focus on the quality of the hiking experience. With 4 certified premium trails and a well-maintained network of hiking trails, the small municipality in the National Park region is making a name for itself as a destination for quality-conscious hiking holidaymakers. To achieve this level of high quality, the municipality has digitalized its trail management on the basis of Outdooractive Trail Management.
“You can’t achieve quality as a hiking destination with advertising alone. You have to do something for that,” says Axel Singer, Managing Director of Kur & Tourismus GmbH in Bad Peterstal-Griesbach.
This tool ensures the permanent maintenance of the signposting. Deficiencies are reported by guests via the website and the app and reach the Outdooractive Business Backend directly. From this, tasks are created for the trail manager and the rectification of defects can be digitally tracked. On the other hand the trail managers can maintain trail conditions in the business backend and block individual trails or larger areas (e.g. for forestry work) or inform with regards to current conditions (e.g. in the event of hazards).
“The digital twin is the prerequisite for a good user experience,” says Hartmut Wimmer, founder and CEO of Outdooractive.
The Black Forest Association has taken over the maintenance of the trail network. The current network of trails of the Black Forest Association is incorporated into the Outdooractive cartography and thus also into the route planner. On this basis, the guests get the best information for route planning.
