The Outdooractive Conference 2019: the speakers of the Data Analysis & Research Forum
Everyone is talking about market research and data analysis. How does a potential guest move on a booking platform? What information about the destination does he need at what time and on what channel? However, collecting information alone is not enough to answer these questions. Data must be prepared and structured in order to find the most effective way to use it. But many destinations are only at the beginning. At this year’s Outdooractive Conference, the topic will therefore be discussed over a whole day in the Data Analysis & Research Forum. Experts from the tourism industry will explain how data management can work successfully.
Stefan Möhler (netzvitamine GmbH)
At #oac19 Stefan Möhler will talk about “Digital communication: strategies in times of data and attention economy”. In 1999 he joined the tourism consult network management consultancy in Hamburg as a partner. The spin-off of this consulting company is “netzvitamine GmbH”, where he now works as managing partner and management consultant. In addition to his work as a lecturer in Ravensburg, Stefan Möhler also teaches and researches at other universities on the topics of digital transformation processes and information management. He mainly advises tourism companies on the challenges of digitization, management of internet projects and online communication strategies. He is also a member of the jury for the German Tourism Innovation Award (Deutscher Tourismuspreis) of the DTV.
Richard Hunkel (Deutsche Zentrale für Tourismus e.V.)
Richard Hunkel will give a deeper insight into the future of Open Data in his lecture “Insights on the open-data/knowledge-graph project”. He has been head of online marketing and system management at the GNTB since 2018. In this capacity, he is responsible for the GNTB’s Open Data project and the implementation of a nation-wide knowledge graph. For many years, he has been working as a senior consultant and team leader for a content marketing specialist. In this function, he has dealt intensively with the topic of search engine optimization. The Open Data / Knowledge Graph project creates new opportunities for content distribution.
Results of the Round Table “visitor guidance in destinations”
In addition, the Data Analysis & Research Forum will present the results of the second round table on “Visitor guidance for destinations – analogue and digital”. This took place during the ITB in Berlin in March. The experts discussed standard requirements for routes in the context of internationalization, data quality, protection zones, liability and rights, especially for community routes and (digital) visitor guidance in the context of the experience, real-time visitor guidance.
