The Outdooractive Conference 2019: The speakers of the Digital Leadership Forum

In the global competition in digital markets, where technologies are developing rapidly, one term has become indispensable: digital Leadership. The tourism industry also has to deal with new tasks, tools and procedures in order to remain successful in the digital area. But before concrete individual measures can be initiated, destinations must first understand and develop the core elements of digital management, even if this means abandoning previous structures and approaches. How this can be successfully implemented will be discussed at this year’s Outdooractive Conference. In the Digital Leadership Forum exciting speakers will provide impetus for modern leadership.

Florian Bauhuber (Tourismuszukunft)

“Digital Leadership in the Age of NewWork” is the theme of Florian Bauhuber’s lecture. The managing director of the expert network Tourismuszukunft advises and accompanies tourism companies and destinations on their way to digitization. His projects are characterized by individual solutions with a high degree of innovation. He focuses service design, open data, content strategy and marketing.


Prof. Dr. Heinz-Dieter Quack (Institut für Tourismus- und Regionalforschung)

Prof. Dr. Heinz-Dieter Quack provides insights into “Knowledge Management at DMO’s”. In addition to his work as head of the “Hiking and Health” research center at the German Hiking Institute, he teaches Destination Management at the Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences. He is also a member of the scientific management of PROJECT M and the European Tourism Institute (ETI) and project manager of the Federal Tourism Competence Centre. His consulting skills include destination development, market research and analysis and hiking tourism.


Bastian Hiller (Teejit – eLearning for Tourism)

Bastian Hiller gives his lecture on the topic “Errors in the system? Digitization and Man”. He is a long-standing network partner for the future of tourism and accompanies various regions in the DACH region as founder of the eLearning start-up Teejit. His digital further education projects in tourism have an internal focus.


Dr. Oliver Ratajczak (

How do customers become profitable and long-term customers? Expert Dr. Oliver Ratajczak, Managing Director of, will give more detailed information in his lecture “From tourism destinations to the (also) digital community”. As founder of one of the first e-Commerce enterprises in Germany he uses digital techniques for the increase and stabilization of customer relations.
