This was the Outdooractive Conference 2018
From September 18-20, 2018 Immenstadt was once again a hotspot of digital tourism: The Outdooractive Conference took place at the Castle of Immenstadt for the sixth time. During the three-day event, participants joined a diverse program – lectures of international experts, interactive workshops and seminars as well as an energetic outdoor program.
Shaping the future of digital tourism
During the two main conference days, September 19-20, the roughly 170 people awaited a program that achieved a balance between theory and applied practical knowledge. In 18 presentations four different main issues (data infrastructure, future DMO, future marketing as well as research and service) were discussed from different point of views. Top-class speakers such as Dirk Rogl (Rogl Consult), Rodney Payne (Destination Think!), Florian Bauhuber (Tourismuszukunft) or Thorsten Rudolph (Hochschwarzwald Tourismus) delighted the participants with many visionary and substantial speeches and provided their listeners with a lot of inspiration and knowledge.
Community & network
Next to the presentations by the experts of the tourism industry, another very important factor of the Outdooractive Conference is put into focus: the network. The event connects all the stakeholders of tourism. Therefore, the program of this year’s #oac18 was rounded off with a joint Get Together, extended breaks for networking and a diverse outdoor program in the midst of the Allgaeu Alps. With lots of sunshine, warm temperatures, regional cuisine and a clear view, the outdoor activities provided plenty of time on Wednesday for intensive networking. Following the lectures on Thursday, the participants had the opportunity to attend interactive workshops before the “Kässpatzen”-evening. We will provide you with the results of the workshops in our blog as soon as possible.
